  President (Academic Affairs)

Hi, I’m Hattie, your Students’ Union President.
I would like to welcome you to Swansea Metropolitan University, and congratulate you for passing your exams and finding places on courses here.

This will be my first term as your SU president and I feel very excited about it. I believe I can help develop our SU further, whilst providing more information to your about different angles of Uni life, as well as strategies to turn situations around to suit you.

If you have any worries or concerns, please come and chat to me, or a member of the SU. The SU exists for you. We offer many services such as representation, campaigning, welfare, sports and societies. We operate an open door policy, so feel free to pop in the offices in Mount Pleasant.

  Student Activities Officer

I know that the start of University life can be a daunting prospect, but just remember, everyone is in the same boat. My student life was exciting, memorable and it will be the same for you. The Students’ Union is here for you through both your academic and social life.

As your SAO it is my job to provide you with entertainments and activities throughout the year. I am also responsible for organising the sports teams, clubs and societies. There is a wide range of things to get involved with from the football team to the dance society to volunteering. If you want to start up your own club or society, there is plenty of support available form my myself.

Make sure you join in he fun, and have a great time in Swansea; these will be the best years of your life.

  Welfare & Student Rights Officer

Welcome to Swansea Met! I am your first port of call within the SU for all non-academic gripes and concerns ranging from sexual health, through to housing problems, homesickness, and discrimination from students or staff.

We have a vibrant and diverse team of permanent staff members and Sabbatical and Part-Time Student Officers this year, and getting involved with the SU is a great way of meeting people, as well as an opportunity to make your voice heard within the University and wider community, and to campaign on the issues that really matter to you. If you have idea which you want to raise, come and see us, and we’ll support your campaign in any way we can.
in Swansea; these will be the best years of your life.
