SCHEDULE G - THE ROLE OF DISCIPLINE & GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE
1. General
1.1 Discipline & Grievance Committee shall oversee all Students’ Union Discipline procedures brought against individual members by other members via a complaint received and oversee any Grievances brought by members who are dissatisfied with their dealings with the Union.
1.2 The Committee shall not become involved in University Discipline and/or Grievance matters relating to students, its remit being only those complaints or grievances received from other members of the Union regarding another member and/or Students’ Union activities or services.
1.3 The Committee shall review policies and procedures relating to Discipline and Grievance matter to ensure compliance with equal opportunities and other applicable legislation.
2. Membership and Meetings
2.1 The Committee shall meet when necessary as directed by the Trustee Board, but shall meet at least once per year to review the rules and regulations relating to Disciplinary & Grievances.
2.2 The membership of the Committee shall be determined by the Trustee Board as it deems appropriate. In general, there should at least one more Sabbatical/Student Trustee then Co-opted Trustee present.
2.3 The minutes of the meetings of the Committee shall be passed to the Trustee Board for information purposes.
