What is a course rep?
Quite simply a course reps job is to stand up for their course mates.
Their job is to find out whether students on their course are happy with the teaching and the support from the staff.
Where there are issues or areas for improvement it is the course reps job to make sure that these concerns are voiced.
What is expected of a course rep?
Being a course rep does take time and dedication but only as much as you are able to give.
Whether it is simply emailing your coursemates to ask them to raise issues or running a survey, whatever time you can give to your fellow students will be appreciated.
As a course rep you are expected to attend the course representatives forum each term.
This forum is a major opportunity to raise any issues which your course mates may be struggling with. This can range from better recycling in a department to more contact time with personal tutors.
Whatever the issue the course reps forum is a great place to make sure your friends voices are heard.
