Whether you are a first year or a postgraduate your University years are going to stand you in excellent stead for the world of work. From research to interpersonal skills, your course has been designed to widen your academic knowledge and intuition alongside some highly important personal skills.
However in a world of increasing University access your grades, reports and skills are not necessarily going to be enough to clinch the deal on your perfect job.
Employers from Microsoft to the Civil Service want EXPERIENCE and so called “soft skills” – the ones that you can’t learn on your course. From volunteering at your local scout troop to working in a charity shop you will show prospective employers that there is more to you than meets the eye.
Your Students’ Union here at Swansea Metropolitan has a great number of opportunities to widen your skills set and “bulk up your CV” up for grabs this term.
